This article will outline the process for hiring Faculty and staff. This assumes that a Job Requisition for the position already exists.
- From the Workday home page, go to the Job Requisitions Workspace by searching for "Job Requisitions" or selecting Job Requisitions on the left side of the page.


- Click the Job Requisition for which you wish to hire an employee.

- Click the application of the person you wish to review.

- To take action on an applicant, click Move Forward (whenever you make a selection using the Move Forward button, you will taken out of the application and back to the list of applications for that position).
- At this stage you have the options to send the application for a Search Committee Screen or to review the candidate yourself using Hiring Manager Reviewed.
- If you choose the latter, when you go back into the application, you will have the options to do a Search Committee Screen, a Phone Screen, or to proceed directly to HR Screening.
- Once you do either a search committee screen or a phone screen, the next step will be HR screening; you won't be able to do both a search committee screen and a phone screen.
- The Move Forward button will change to HR Screening.

- When HR has cleared the HR screening, you will have a task listed in your Awaiting Your Action section of your Workday home page. Click on the task.

- Click Schedule Interview.

- Click Schedule to schedule the interview in Workday or click Skip to schedule the interview manually outside of Workday.

- If scheduling in Workday, set the date, interview duration, and add all attendees. Attendees will receive a task to select a time based on availability on your ACU Google calendar.

- If scheduling manually outside of Workday, click OK on the Skip This Task pop-up.

- Now the application is in the Interview Decision status. When you access the application, whether from your tasks or from the positions list of applications in the Job Requisition Workspace, the Move Forward button will have the options to Schedule More Interviews or proceed to Reference Check.
- The Reference Check option will assign the applicant a task to submit reference information. You will get a notification when it is completed, and you can review the references by clicking the Open button in the application.


- Now the application will have the options to Offer or Decline. Click Offer to initiate an offer.
- Set the Hire Date to what will be the person's start date and select a Hire Reason. The rest of the information should be pre-populated. Review it to ensure it is correct, clicking Next to advance to the next section. When everything is correct, click Submit to send it for approvals and a background check.

- When the approvals and background check are complete, you will have a task to extend a verbal offer. Click Set Offer and Employment Agreement.

- Set the status to Verbal Offer Extended and click OK.

- Click Submit on the task.

- HR will generate an offer letter and you will get a task to review it. Check the box to agree and click Submit.

- The letter will be sent to the candidate to accept and begin collecting information to build their worker profile. HR will set the candidate to Ready to Hire. You will have a task to approve the final hire. Click Approve.

- You will have a task for Onboarding Setup. It will send a message to the new employee. Review it and click submit.
