The Workday Requisitions application enables employees to create requisitions. Employees can check the status of their recent requisitions in the status window within the Create A Requisition screen. The application enhances the employee experience by giving users the ability to review the status of requisitions while also providing visibility into the process.
Note: Requisitions route for budget approval in Workday to the cost center manager and requisitions route to the procurement office for review before the PO is issued to the supplier.
Requisitioning Goods and Services
- From the Workday homepage search for "Request Non-Catalog Items".

- In the Request Type section select whether you are requesting a requisition for goods or a service.

- In the Request Details section, enter the Supplier by typing in the supplier name and selecting the Enter key.
- If the Supplier for this requisition is new or not available, reach out to the Procurement Office to get it added.
- The Commodity Code can be left blank for the Procurement team to complete this field.
- Enter the Request Description field with the description of the first item for the requisition.
- Select a spend category to verify the spend type.

- In the Pricing section, for a Goods item, enter the Quantity, Unit of Measure ("Each" is a common unit of measure), and unit price in the Price field. If your quote has multiple line items, just enter the information for the first line. You will add additional lines later in the process.
- For a Service, enter the actual or estimated start and end date of the services and the total cost in the Price field. You can add notes in the memo field if needed.

- Select the blue Add to Cart button located at the bottom of the page.

- Then select the Cart icon after one Supplier goods or services has been added to the cart. The My Cart pop-up will appear under the View Cart icon, as shown in the image below.
- Please note: You can alternatively enter and select View Cart in the search bar if needed to view requisition items in your Workday cart.

- In the My Cart screen, select Checkout.
- In the Checkout screen, under the Requisition Information add a Requisition Type

- Please add the shipping instructions if needed to the memo to suppliers
- Use the Internal Memo line to add information on who to email the PO to if necessary.

- The Goods or Services information will populate below for review. Please use the scroll bar to review the information.
- You can add additional lines to the Goods and Services sections to accommodate additional line items from your quote or requisition.

- If the Fund code defaults as a compensation Fund, please remove the incorrect fund and add the correct FD fund code.
- Below the Services section, under the Attachments section, click the arrow to expand the section and Select Files to upload and attach the Supplier order document or quote.


- Review the requisition information, then select Submit.
- Any errors will populate in red at the top of the screen. Click on the Errors link to review any error messages before resubmitting the Requisition.
