How do I restore my data using CrashPlan?

Applications cannot be restored through CrashPlan; you will need to install any applications you need.

There are two methods of restoring data:

Restoring Through The Desktop App

  1. Open the CrashPlan Application and log in if prompted.
  2. In the top right select "Restore Files" 
  3. Select the computer you want to restore from:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Select your user folder if it is not already selected.
  5. Select the folders you would like information from (such as Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Pictures, or Videos).
  6. If you want only certain files, double-click the folder and select what you want to restore:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  7. Select "Restore Files" in the bottom right corner.
  8. Click "Go."
  9. CrashPlan will save the requested files to your Downloads folder on your computer.

Restoring through the Online Console

  1. Navigate to console.us2.crashplan.com.
  2. Sign in with your full ACU email address and continue to log in through SSO.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. On the top bar, select "Administration," then "Devices."Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Select the computer you would like to restore from by clicking the icon on the "Restore" column.
  5. Select your User Profile. Do not click the checkbox
  6. Select the folders you would like information from (such as Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Pictures, or Videos).
  7. If you want only certain files, double-click the folder and select what you want to restore:
  8. Once you select the files you want to restore, click "Restore."
  9. CrashPlan will save the requested files to your Downloads folder on your computer.
