How do I restore my data using CrashPlan?

There are two methods of restoring data:

Restoring Through The Desktop App

  1. Open the CrashPlan Application
  2. In the top right select "Restore Files" 
  3. Select the computer you want to restore from
  4. Select your User Profile
  5. Select the folders you would like information from
    1. Most common are Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Pictures, Videos
    2. Applications cannot be restored through CrashPlan; you will need to re-install the applications
  6. If you want only certain files double click the folder and select what you want to restore
  7. Select "Restore Files in the bottom right
  8. Hit "Go"
  9. CrashPlan will now save the requested files to the Download folder on your computer.

Restoring through the Online Console

  1. Navigate to Crashplan.acu.edu if you are on-campus or Crashplan.com/console if you are off-campus
  2. Sign-in with your ACU E-Mail and you will be redirected to the SSO sign-on
  3. On the right-hand side select devices and navigate to "active"
  4. Select the computer you would like to restore from by clicking the icon on the "Restore" column
  5. Select your User Profile *do not hit the checkbox*
  6. Select the folders you would like information from
    1. Most common are Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Pictures, Videos
    2. Applications cannot be restored through CrashPlan, you will need to re-install the applications
  7. If you want only certain files click the folder and select what you want to restore *not the checkbox*
  8. Once you select the files you want to restore hit "Restore"
  9. Hit the light grey box in the bottom left corner
  10. CrashPlan will now save the requested files to the Download folder on your computer.
