How do I access ArcGIS?

ArcGIS is a spatial imaging program with limited licenses available to students and faculty for academic purposes.

To request a license for yourself, call the Support Center at 325-674-5555 or email support@acu.edu.

If you are a professor requesting ArcGIS for your class, click here.

Accessing ArcGIS

The following instructions assume you already have a license.

ArcGIS Online

Go to https://abilenechristian.maps.arcgis.com and sign in with your ACU account if prompted.

ArcGIS Pro (personal computer)

To install ArcGIS Pro, go to https://abilenechristian.maps.arcgis.com and sign in with your ACU account.

  1. Click your profile icon in the top right corner and choose "My Settings."
  2. On the left side, click "Licenses."
  3. Search for ArcGIS Pro, and click "Download ArcGIS Pro."
  4. Choose the latest version (or other version if you need it) and click "Download."
  5. Open the downloaded file and follow the prompts to install it on your computer.
  6. Launch ArcGIS Pro.
  7. At the sign-in window, choose "Your ArcGIS organization's URL" and type "AbileneChristian" in the box.
  8. Click the new button, "Abilene Christian University," and sign into your ACU account.

ArcGIS Pro (lab computers)

ACU makes ArcGIS available in several computer labs. Ask your professor to see which lab you should be using.
