How do I resolve computer login error "The sign-in method you're trying to use isn't allowed"?

This error message indicates that the user's Active Directory account is flagged as "email only." The email only flag is used for past students or employees, who retain access to email, but not anything else.

If the user is a current employee or student, the account setting will need to be fixed by the appropriate department:

  • For employees, Human Resources 325-674-2359.
  • For students, Registrar's Office (contact point Wildcat Central 325-674-2300).
