How can I get instructor resources and help with secure online quizzing with LockDown Browser?

Made by Respondus, LockDown Browser is a web browser application that allows for secure online quzzing and testing. ACU uses LockDown Browser at both the Abilene campus and ACU Online. In addition to reducing the likelihood of cheating, it also helps protect the integrity of the quiz questions.

In Canvas, the Quiz assignment type is used regardless of whether it is a quiz, test, or exam.

Please be aware of our article for students: How do I Use Lockdown Browser as a Student? Please note that installing LockDown Browser requires administrator privileges, so it may not be possible to use it on public access computers, or computers owned by others.

Respondus has made an information video that would be helpful to watch: https://youtu.be/KDGE2AjhZ5I

ACU Online: Students in fully online programs take quizzes from remote locations using LockDown Browser. Please contact your Program Director if you have questions beyond this information page. LockDown Browser has already been enabled on the quizzes in your course, so as instructor, there is nothing that you need to do in terms of setup. This includes a practice course; students should complete this practice course to ensure they have installed LockDown Browser and can use it successfully. It is the student’s responsibility to have access to a computer, and you can refer them to the technology requirements in the Online Student Handbook if needed.

Abilene Campus: The Adams Center provides information and help with LockDown Browser. See their LockDown Browser page here.
