Email and Google Workspace
ACU uses Google Workspace for Education. Your ACU email account is a Gmail account, includes 50 GB in Google Drive, and you can use GOOGLE DRIVE FOR DESKTOP!
Be sure to make full use of this service and keep all your assignments and work in Google Drive so you will always have a backup of your work.
What Computer Should I Bring to College?
The number 1 thing to answer this question is to talk to your department. They will be able to tell you what software applications your computer will need to be able to run, and then you can reference those applications' minimum hardware requirements. Additionally the department will be able to tell you what preferences their faculty have.
Aside from talking to your department, we recommend you use whatever you're most familiar with. If you've been using either macOS or Windows at home, keep using the same thing here.
ChromeOS and iOS devices like Chromebooks and iPads are useful, but they are not replacements for a personal computer (yet).
Printing
Students can print to any lab or residence hall printer using their ACU print balances. Each student is given $15 at the start of each long semester. This free credit does not roll over from semester to semester. If students run out of funds, they can add funds by printing from any lab computer on campus; they will be prompted to add more when when attempting to print with insufficient. Any funds added in this way does roll over to the next semester.
Students may also print from their personal devices at acu.edu/print.
