You can change the paper size or type of each tray on your HP printer in a couple of different ways.
The simplest way is to load the paper that you need into whichever tray you would like, make sure the paper guides in the tray are set appropriately, and when you close the drawer the printer should ask you if you would like to change the paper size and type, as seen below. If you do not see this prompt, you can also swipe left to go to the second page on the home screen, and tap the "Trays" button, then select the tray you would like to change settings for.
HP Printers with a Touchscreen
To change the size, touch modify on the window that appears. You will be taken to the settings page for that tray, where you can change the size and type to the appropriate values for the paper you will be printing on. When you are satisfied with the options you have selected, press done to save the settings. It is important to make sure these settings are correct for the type and size of paper you are using. If they are not, the quality of your prints may be impacted.
HP Printers with a Two-Line LCD
Just as with a touchscreen model, load the paper that you need into whichever tray you would like, make sure the paper guides are set appropriately, and when you close the drawer the printer should ask you if you would like to change the paper size and type, as seen below. Use the arrow keys and OK button below the display to select the paper options you need.
Alternate Methods of Changing Paper Size and Type
It is also possible to change the size and type for the loaded paper without opening and closing a paper tray by navigating to the appropriate setting on the front of the printer itself, or through the printer's web interface. Please contact the helpdesk for more assistance with changing these printer settings.
