How do I connect to an HP office printer on my Windows computer?

This page has instructions for installing an ACU-owned printer on your ACU-owned computer.

Students can print from ACU lab computers or view our article to print with their own computers or mobile devices.

 

Abilene Campus Instructions

Click the start menu, type "\\print.acu.edu" and press Enter.

You will see a list of printers appear, sorted alphabetically by building and room number.

Double-click the printer you want to install and you will be able to print from it. If you are attempting to add an HP Multifunction Printer that is provided by Hilliard Office Solutions, find the building and room number that it is located in and select the printer from the list that is labeled "MFP" and matches the location.

Dallas Campus Instructions

  1. Press the Windows key or click the Windows button in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
  2. Type “Printers” and then click the “Printers and Scanners” suggestion.
  3. Click “Add a printer or scanner.”
  4. Click “The printer that I want isn’t listed.”
  5. Select the radio button for “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname.”
  6. Click “Next.”
  7. Enter the IP address in the “Hostname or IP address” field. It is not necessary to modify any other fields.
  8. Click “Next.”
  9. Select the printer model from the list. If if is not listed, use the option for Universal PCL 6 (with the highest version number in parentheses). If you don't have this driver, or if it encounters any issue with the driver, you can download them from this article's files section.
  10. Click "Next."
  11. Enter a name for the printer that will help you identify it.
  12. Click "Next."
  13. Select radio button to not share the printer.
  14. Click "Next."
  15. Click "Finish."
