How do I get access to a network shared directory on a server?

Some departments have shared file directories hosted on ACU servers such as Perez (also called Luke). To access your department's directory, please have your supervisor contact the Support Center to request access for you.

We will need to know the name of the share you need access to. For example \\perez\helpdesk\documentation would specify access is needed to the "helpdesk" share.

If your coworkers have mapped the directory as a network drive, you should be able to find the share name that way. But the letter assigned to the drive, i.e. "A: drive," "G: drive," etc. is not helpful because you can assign any letter and it doesn't identify the directory you need.

For instructions to map the directory as a network drive, see: How do I Map a Directory on a Server as a Network Drive?
